Salsa Beat Machine ( https://salsabeatmachine.org/) allows you to create phrases and listen to salsa music in a controlled environment. to start try a tempo closer to 150 BPM and click the instruments on or off. Try using a percussion instrument to mark the beat (cow bell, guiro, maracas) and add an asymmetrical rhythm on top like the piano to help you find the 1. Then turn on the instructors voice (mic) to verify if you've found the 1.
